This was the very first morning after we arrived. It was still a bit chilly out and we weren't ready to put Henry in the dirt yet. So we brought his pack and play (also his bed) out and put him in. We got to go camping for eight nights up in the mountains. It was so beautiful and mostly relaxing - except when we had to put Henry down for naps. It was super cold during the evening, getting down in the 40's! But overall, I think Henry really enjoyed the time in nature and he definitely enjoyed the birthday cake :)

So we're back now and all really missing the mountains and California. It always feels like so long between visits... But we took lots of pictures and many of them will hopefully find their way to the blog in no particular order. This was one of the last days we were there, but I really liked this shot. More to come!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/TDPgvI-5dfI/AAAAAAAAARw/I-qKksSzR-0/s320/CampingInCA1_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5490979471164536306" />

Happy Birthday Henry

Henry is 1 year old today! She found a fun swing that looks like a dolphin that is now hanging from a tree in our front yard. She also found a kiddie pool (it also looks like a dolphin) and Henry loves them both. We got to play in the pool one sunny summer afternoon. At first it was too cold and Henry would do everything he could to get out as soon as he touched the water. Crawling, pulling himself up, news of becoming a big brother. But I think this milestone may top them all. Henry's first time eating pizza! For those that know Dad, he could pretty much live off pizza (and practically did for a couple years). So this was a very momentous occasion. Henry loved it cried when it was over. He acts out how Dad feels about pizza...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/TBmFU1ncJPI/AAAAAAAAAQo/gJw4XQ8lrkU/s320/Pizza_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483560614336668914" />

Big Brother

This has been public knowledge for a while now, but Henry is going to be a big brother! Tammy is now almost 11 weeks pregnant putting the due date at January 7. We're all very excited, especially Henry. At least we're assuming that's why he wanted to hold the pregnancy test. Or maybe it was disbelief. We love the size, the lack of stairs/basement, and the carpet. It's so much easier to watch Henry when his falls don't hurt as bad (carpet) and we don't have to worry about long falls (stairs). In the old place, we never really let Henry wander very far from the little carpet square in the living room. But at the new place, he gets to explore much more. He loves going to the front door to watch the world go by. These are some shots after he found the door.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S-IVDi9dxSI/AAAAAAAAAQI/xbO-QFPICso/s320/AtTheDoor2_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5467956048249603362" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S-IVDd4IAYI/AAAAAAAAAQA/y30Ir9E1ONQ/s320/AtTheDoor1_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5467956046885028226" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S-IVD6BOIQI/AAAAAAAAAQQ/OCagroIQQIU/s320/AtTheDoor3_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5467956054439371010" />

Being Green

Just as Easter, I'm a bit behind with this post... Still mostly pulling himself along with his arms, but he's really good at it now! He scoots around our house, which is mostly hardwood (side note: we just sold our house so if you know of a cheap place for rent in Morton, let us know!).

With the mobility comes some new and awesome things for Mom and me (and certainly some challenges, but let's focus on the positive). One of my new favorite things is when Henry crawls back over to me after he's been exploring and comes right up to my lap and looks up at me. So I pull him up and he sits on my lap while we play with a toy and about a minute later, he regrets his decision and goes exploring again. Another one of my favorite things happens at the end of the day. Mom's been busy lately, so I've gotten to put Henry to bed more often than usual. So my new favorite thing is when I'm holding him in my arms with his head nuzzled on one arm, body laying across my stomach, as I sing him a song and pat his back, his eyes slowly close. That moment when you can tell that he has actually fallen asleep... Wow. So peaceful.

This is probably the longest post yet! Better include a picture, too :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S6lpX66ia6I/AAAAAAAAAPE/F9BQHUZoAJY/s320/Explorer_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5452004683581385634" />

Shake, Rattle and Roll

Henry is nine months old today! He just keeps growing and learning. We feed him more and different foods and enjoy his facial expressions when he experiences new textures and flavors. We even gave him some gobi (cauliflower) from a dish of aloo gobi (potato and cauliflower) at Khana Khazanah. He seemed to enjoy it, spice and all. But enough about food; that's not what this post is about.

Henry is also getting much better motor skills and a better attention span. He still gets frustrated when he can't quite grab something because his finger and thumb don't do what he wants them to do :) But with the increased motor skills and attention span come much enjoyment from toys both new and old. The first time we gave Henry this rattle was when he was a couple days old - naive parents, I know. He didn't seem to enjoy it much then, but look how much he loves it now that he can make noise with it!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S6lmp-unNgI/AAAAAAAAAO8/8eOaJltbwLA/s320/Rattle_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5452001695307871746" />

Pita

I was so happy to get to spend the weekend with Mom and Henry. The past two weekends they were visiting the family in California. The weekends are especially nice for me because no work = more time with my family. We got to hang out and I got to feed Henry, play a lot, and change diapers! He got to eat some pita on Saturday while I took pictures. They got back late Monday night. The inevitable delay occurred (2 hours again) and this time only three bags made it back on her flight. Not surprising that her bags were not the ones that made it to Peoria. But yeah, they're home safely and that's what matters :) Here's a picture Mom sent me that she took on her phone. I'm so happy that he and Mom are able to go visit the family in CA, but it's so hard for me while they're gone!

I was just reminiscing and looking through some photos from before they took their trip. The first picture shows a fun way to get Henry to laugh. I like to gnaw at his neck and make funny noises. The second picture is him waiting for more :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S36Q1Ee6ijI/AAAAAAAAAOc/_iDFlElxhIA/s320/DadPlaying_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5439944641321011762" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S36Q1WFgqQI/AAAAAAAAAOk/NfG5J5voaIQ/s320/WaitingForMore_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5439944646046296322" />

Look-A-Like

So people seem to say that Henry looks like his dad. Grandpa got the camera out while Mom and Henry laughed and played. As it turns out, Henry enjoys being turned upside down! He similarly enjoys being lifted up high into the air or being held tight while you do quick squats. In each of the aforementioned, he opens his mouth as wide as he possibly can trying to stretch that smile from ear to ear and chin to forehead! It's probably the cutest thing ever as demonstrated by this picture that Grandpa took :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S3tUu1JIsfI/AAAAAAAAAOM/v0i9XrD9LO0/s320/UpsideDown_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5439034138496119282" />

Broccoli

At Henry's last doctor appointment, Mom and Dad learned that we can start giving him finger foods. Oh, what a new and fun (not to mention incredibly messy) experience that has been! He's enjoyed whole wheat pitas, crackers, tofu and steamed broccoli! When broccoli is steamed, it is much easier for a baby to eat. Coincidentally, it's also so much messier. All the little leaves fall off with little effort to keep the bites small enough for him. But Henry's not exactly the most gentle boy so as he grabs the broccoli, the little leaves go everywhere as demonstrated below. However, he does really like to eat his greens!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S3h-YBtUcCI/AAAAAAAAAOE/Sq5IkkpogAY/s320/Broccoli_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438235501290352674" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S3h-XxFPDGI/AAAAAAAAAN8/5Bd_hUfCxvU/s320/Broccoli2_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438235496827260002" />

Window of Opportunity

Being the inquisitive boy he is, Henry quite enjoys looking out the window. Which, as mentioned in a previous post, leads to boredom in the house sometimes. He's also getting more and more mobile every day. Sometimes we just let him go off on his own so he can learn (of course, we make sure he doesn't get hurt too bad). That actually leads to a funny story. The other day, Mom was playing with Henry while he was scooting and rolling around the floor. He crawled over to Mom and started tugging on her pant leg. She looked down and he smiled at her. Then she looked up and back down and to her surprise, he had a pacifier in his mouth! There must have been one on the floor that he found. Crazy kid. So yeah, here he is exploring :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S3h7XXBckfI/AAAAAAAAANs/kklldINCFB4/s320/exploring_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438232191297163762" />

Bye!

So Henry and Mom left for CA yesterday. It's sad for us in IL (especially me since I usually see them everyday) because they will be gone for 10 days. Henry and I were hanging out before they left and Mom took some pictures. I want to post this one so he can wave bye to us in IL and hi to those in CA! Truth is, he's not actually waving, Mom's just really good at capturing a moment. Henry is in to hitting things right now - well mostly just waving his arm up and down and if some thing's in the way, watch out! Of course, as is the manner of a seven-month baby, whenever I am playing with his toy, he instantly gets jealous and wants the toy all to himself. Even if he's already playing with a different toy. But we'll work on that. He's a great kid. Here's some pictures of him making music.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S2jfEmly9xI/AAAAAAAAANc/HImoI_LdbiE/s320/piano_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5433838220594050834" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S2jfEaq42XI/AAAAAAAAANU/m72vaq9pXFI/s320/piano2_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5433838217394182514" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S2jfDxCXn6I/AAAAAAAAANM/aDm1sUm1qbQ/s320/piano3_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5433838206218379170" />

Teeth

Not sure if I've mentioned this yet, but Henry has teeth. They started coming in at around 5 months. But it's been really hard to get a picture to share with the world. Consequently, Henry gets a little bored in the living room (since we try not to let him watch tv). He likes to be escorted throughout the house and he really likes lights! Especially the light in the kitchen because it is also a ceiling fan. These pictures were taken of him watching the fan blades go round and round. I used the low light lens (best b-day gift ever) which I think adds some dramatic affect :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S2Nruz-lGKI/AAAAAAAAAM8/GSZzXlUadvc/s320/lookUp_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5432304027509790882" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S2NruhjYNdI/AAAAAAAAAM0/eyCxUiS1SMA/s320/lookUp2_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5432304022563861970" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/S2NrufaGKgI/AAAAAAAAAMs/S2CAz8VaQYY/s320/lookUp3_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5432304021988059650" />

Rubber Ducky

The other day when we were giving Henry a bath, we put a rubber ducky in with him. As he does with most everything he sees, he put the duck in his mouth. The duck has a hole in his mouth so he can drink (and spit back out) water. I just want to set the record straight to make sure everyone knows I don't neglect Henry as much as I neglect his blog :)

It's been a long time... And it's not that I haven't been taking pictures. I know everyone is busy so that excuse won't work. So I'll fall back to the fact that I am on a computer for 10 hours a day at work and the only reason I want to get on a computer after that is to play civ 4. Case and point - the times when pictures were most regularly posted were times when I was off work (right after his birth and over Thanksgiving). But I try, I really do.

Mom sent me this picture one day while I was at work. His two front teeth on the bottom are both starting to come in! We can't really get pictures because he doesn't like to show them off. But the crazy thing is that it isn't really making him cranky. Very exciting.

Anyway, we gave Henry a bath yesterday (not that we don't do that often, but we had the camera this time). Just a few shots of bath time :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/Sy7LXxcc0jI/AAAAAAAAAMM/pEFI0C9kT4o/s320/bath2_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417491011043381810" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/Sy7LXlZoK3I/AAAAAAAAAME/16Z6geUV42I/s320/bath3_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417491007810317170" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/Sy7LXSvh18I/AAAAAAAAAL8/a6C8d1LV02s/s320/bath4_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417491002801903554" />

Illinois

Yes, Mom and Henry made it back safely (albeit two hours late). It's be so great to have both of them back home. Last weekend, Mom was very busy with stuff for her store so Henry and Dad got to spend a lot of quality time together. We had much fun. Because of how busy we've been since Mom and Henry returned, we haven't taken a lot of pictures. Yesterday, though, after I was done working, we got to hang out and take new photos. This is Henry and Dad fighting over who gets to play with the ribbon:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SyzfseKBRNI/AAAAAAAAAL0/5QzAUhHrpas/s320/withDad_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5416950406922192082" />
Then this is Henry and Mom chilling (aren't they so cute :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SyzfsDQ5K8I/AAAAAAAAALs/WNYhXJfrpwQ/s320/withMom_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5416950399703264194" />
Then a couple pictures of Henry by the window. I'll be coming back home tomorrow. Which means I have to go another week without getting to see Henry. He seems to be learning more and more motor skills everyday so I'm sure I'll miss a lot over the week. Just the other morning when I got up with Henry (he's been waking up consistently at about 6am every day), he rolled over from back to belly... It was actually quite hilarious because every time he tried, he would pass gas. Then when he actually rolled over, he passed a lot of gas :)

Anyway, I'm going to post a few pictures with this one since I won't be able to take any pictures over the next week. This is on Henry's first Thanksgiving:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SxYB4xi6cPI/AAAAAAAAAKs/woYOkTb-pJs/s320/thanksgivingFamily_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410514077216305394" />
This picture was taken one morning over the weekend at the cabin:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 318px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SxYCXbunkcI/AAAAAAAAAK0/9sZOF0KOQr0/s320/atTheCabin1_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410514603935764930" />
While we were up at Shaver, Santa was in town so we took Henry up to see him. Yesterday we went to the lake to feed the ducks and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Mom, Dad, Uncle Adam, Aunt Tina, and Cousin Nikki and her daughter Riley all went. Henry seemed a little indifferent about the ducks, but he liked feeling the texture of the rocks. It was such a relaxing weekend even though Henry didn't quite adjust to the different crib.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SxP7pcv2TEI/AAAAAAAAAKc/bUCNXzb39xE/s320/atTheLake1_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409944266912189506" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SxP7o6M3tPI/AAAAAAAAAKU/yJcvqCoKUn8/s320/atTheLake2_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409944257638675698" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SxP9IqQeMdI/AAAAAAAAAKk/u9ltnvJnvLc/s320/atTheLake3_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5409945902626255314" />

Cereal

Last night we started Henry on some solids. We gave him some rice cereal after his normal dose of evening formula. He was a little shocked by the new taste and didn't appear to like it much on the first try. I'm sure he'll begin to develop a liking for cereal since Dad could pretty much live on it. I don't think it is possible to capture the priceless expressions completely with a camera, but here's a few pictures of the feeding. Notice the progression of disgust...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SwwYXpcZtII/AAAAAAAAAKM/8KHcKDx5bNM/s320/henryFood1_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407724047106159746" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SwwYXDVs-xI/AAAAAAAAAKE/-bOrv_h-Pkg/s320/henryFood2_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407724036877515538" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SwwYW2edZHI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/xjztXX3y570/s320/henryFood3_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407724033424581746" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SwwYWlkk-tI/AAAAAAAAAJ0/ED47oeeOIQg/s320/henryFood4_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407724028886842066" />

Five Months

Five months ago today, Henry was born! He's come a long way from the tiny little guy we met that day. Today, he's celebrated by taking really short naps to make himself more cranky than usual. But he managed to stay happy through lunch with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. Fortunately, we didn't have much else going on today so we could work around his short naps. Uncle Adam comes back tonight and Aunt Tina rides the train here tomorrow. Good times! Here's Henry today:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/Sws1dZ1cDpI/AAAAAAAAAJs/dL7BTUqW9UM/s320/fiveMonthHenry_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407474556855914130" />

Sitting

Yesterday was a good day of relaxing. We didn't really have much going on other than visiting with Uncle Adam in the morning before he left for a visit with his family up north. So in the afternoon, Henry and Mom were watching some Baby Einstein on the laptop while I worked on improving the performance of Grandma & Grandpa's home computer :) Mom put Henry on the floor and he was doing a pretty good job of holding himself up! Occasionally, he would fall forward in an effort to see what his socks tasted like. But then the cow would come back on the screen and he'd work his way back up to smile at him. Here's a few shots from yesterday afternoon.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SwgJiGdBEuI/AAAAAAAAAJU/LwSgdqPg8ms/s320/hAndM1_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5406581834110800610" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SwgJiXIrfEI/AAAAAAAAAJc/PkieSPxA7WI/s320/hAndM2_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5406581838588902466" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SwgJirb_SSI/AAAAAAAAAJk/bkXYLuKqnuA/s320/sittingUp_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5406581844038600994" />

Reunited

So... It's been a while. Dad was out sick for a while. Shortly after Dad got better, Henry had is four month doctor visit. He had another dose of immunizations that went much better this time than at the two month visit. We also found out that Henry is in the fiftieth percentile for weight and ninety fifth percentile for height! Tall and lanky like Mom and Dad. Then Mom and Henry flew off to California to visit all the family out in the central valley. Dad was home alone for a week and really missed Henry (and Mom of course). On Wednesday, Dad got to fly out and join them for two weeks! Henry certainly changed in that week that I didn't get to see him.

This was the first day I got in. He was so happy to see me - I was afraid he was going to forget who I was. But we got to hang out for a while, then he went down for a nap. I was reminded how peaceful he looks when he sleeps.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SwcA_Ccp4PI/AAAAAAAAAIs/odbexlTt8Tk/s320/sleepingHenry_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5406290960670384370" />

Yesterday, we went to Uncle Wayne and Aunt Ellen's house in Firebaugh (not Fire Ball). Here's a picture when Mom put Henry up on her shoulders.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/Stonrwg1C3I/AAAAAAAAAIM/D73sfMIj33I/s320/shoulders_blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393667136440044402" />

Remote

Uncle Adam bought Dad a remote for his camera. He was congested and sneezing and coughing and his voice was really raspy. He even had a bit of a temperature last night. Needless to say, he did not have a good weekend. Even though he cried a bit more than usual, and his face was covered in snot and drool, we were still able to find smiles throughout the day to keep us going:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/StPbKPLM8II/AAAAAAAAAHk/9F13VWg9Ggs/s320/HenrySick_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5391894147811307650" />
But yes, he did do more crying than usual (this next picture was moments after the previous one)... (Big Boy Edition)

Three months old... Henry is getting so big! It gets harder and harder to hold him up for prolonged periods of time - quite the arm workout. He's increasing his baby-talk vocabulary which is totally cute. He's gaining more and more control of his motor skills. But he's still on the same general sleep schedule which includes waking up far too frequently for Mom and Dad's liking. I just took a quick snapshot of Henry and Mom to show how big he is today. I posted twice today so be sure to continue scrolling down for more!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SrrJgpLsYdI/AAAAAAAAAG0/kkWT8DDlbdM/s320/ThreeMonths_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384837867122745810" />

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://henryroscoe.blogspot.com/2009/09/three-months-big-boy-edition.html' title='Three Months! (Pumpkin Edition)

Henry is three months old today! It's hard to believe, I know. This past weekend, Henry got to experience his first Pumpkin Festival! We got up and met Grandpa and Great Grandma there for pumpkin pancakes on Saturday morning. This picture (Grandpa took) is in the food tent after Henry scarffed down about a dozen pumpkin flapjacks :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SrrGHiRwUrI/AAAAAAAAAGk/7oHc3326dic/s320/FamilyPFest_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384834137237508786" />
After the pancakes, we got to watch the parade. Here's Grandma and Henry:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/Sq2oirDoDNI/AAAAAAAAAGU/uDH6lVHgGzc/s320/GmaHenry_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381142443404561618" />

Two Month

On Friday, we had Henry's two month doctor visit. That's the one where they give a baby four shots... One was oral and three were stuck in his leg with a needle the size of Henry! Needless to say, he did not have a good time. But overall, I'd say he took it well for a two month old baby.

Today, he and I got to hang out for a while and Mom took our picture. It is already feeling like fall here in East Peoria, so we got to bring out the lumberjack outfit! It's always so great to see them and so hard to say goodbye. Last Sunday, we got to have Henry dedicated at the church. It was excellent and a good reminder of how we desire to raise our son to become a Godly man. Sometimes it's hard to remember that with all the diaper changes and late night feedings (Mom). But certainly even the way we raise him now can have profound results later in his life!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SpcyDR_MM-I/AAAAAAAAAGE/v7pvDl_VYGg/s320/Dedication_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5374819712239416290" />
After church, we went to Eli's Coffee Shop in Morton. It was so beautiful out! Each day brings new developments and growth which is so exciting to watch! He's so alert and responsive now. He's started smiling so much more (but when the camera comes out, it's very elusive). He also has begun baby talking and cooing which is absolutely adorable! And unlike dad's hairline, Henry's is growing forward again. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures that demonstrate that he's the cutest baby ever!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/Sov617wUPYI/AAAAAAAAAFk/FucTXEW9PDI/s320/HenrySnooze_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371662785049804162" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/Sov61YVduII/AAAAAAAAAFc/bw8Vk6Xxta8/s320/Henry8Weeks_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371662775541938306" />

Sleep

So it seems as though sleep is the thing to ask about lately. Henry is nearly seven weeks old. He doesn't technically sleep through the night as a grown man would do - eight hours straight - but he has known the difference between night and day for most of his life. So he is used to sleeping at night and being more active during the day. He usually gets one longer stretch to start the night (about 4 hours), then gets up every 2-3 hours after that for food. Fortunately for me, Mom is the best and she lets me sleep through the night, especially when I have to get up for work the next day. I always like to say, he sleeps like a baby :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/Sn7P3ZOv6wI/AAAAAAAAAFU/IxUypWFjJqE/s320/Mom%26HenrySleep_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367956356444711682" />

Nose

At this stage in Henry's life, he does mostly the same things every day. That would explain the less frequent posts as of late. Then I thought that even though it's hard for me to tell since I see him every day, he certainly still is growing. So even if there's a few pictures with the same pose, it is still nice to see how he's 'filling out'. So here's a picture that I thought was very cute. If you click on the image, you'll see that I uploaded a larger size than usual to give more detail.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SnyKxQKunMI/AAAAAAAAAFM/1rOv1RFZlCs/s320/BabyBlues_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367317434676976834" />
These pictures were taken while Henry and I were hanging out and he was in his bouncy chair. Henry's here!'

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/SnT4rxnVEvI/AAAAAAAAAEs/ZzOBip_4_lA/s320/Contessa_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5365186487041463026" />
Henry was quite awake and alert this evening during the party. We have realized that he loves being outside (that's my boy!). He loves looking around and enjoying nature. Henry has started losing some of his birth hair. Almost all of it is gone on the top of his head, but it still remains on the sides and back. He was able to hold his head up on his own in the first few days (not prolonged, but still). The newest development is his ability to breakdance. This picture captures that for me as he holds on to Mom's finger.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kyz1Y953XSw/Slvfaf9wSwI/AAAAAAAAADs/9SNhxQ8bnac/s320/Hands_blog.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358121828037446402" />
Now to the fussiness...
